Safeguarding

How we keep the children and young people we work with safe, across our centres in Leeds and London. Every member of staff holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, we have a Designated Safeguarding Lead on site, and our full policy is published below.

Safeguarding is at the heart of what we do

Autism Partnership provides specialist ABA therapy for autistic children, young people and adults from our centres in Leeds and London. Safeguarding is not a policy we keep on a shelf. It shapes how we recruit, how we train and how we work with every child and family. Our aim is that every child we work with is safe, respected and able to reach their potential, and that every parent knows exactly who to speak to if they have a concern.

Our commitment to child protection

All our staff undergo training that meets current UK statutory requirements, including:

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2026)
  • The Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, in force from September 2026
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children

How we put it into practice

  • Safeguarding and child protection training for every member of the team
  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead on site, supported by trained deputies
  • Enhanced DBS checks on all staff, so no member of staff works unsupervised with a child until their certificate and two satisfactory references have been received and assessed
  • Awareness of the Prevent Duty, LADO procedures and safer recruitment practice
  • Regular refresher training, so knowledge stays current rather than dating
  • Ofsted-registered Early Years provision at our Leeds centre, URN 2698498

Our policies

Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy is reviewed annually and sits alongside our Safer Recruitment Policy. Between them they cover:

  • Identifying and reporting concerns
  • Safer recruitment and vetting
  • Whistleblowing
  • Monitoring child absence

If you have a concern about a child, speak to any member of our team and ask for the Designated Safeguarding Lead, or contact us on 0113 250 9275 or at info@autismpartnership.co.uk.
